Started With a Problem
We're not from a corporate boardroom. We're travelers who got tired of bad bags. You know the feeling — straps that dig into your shoulders, pockets that don't fit anything useful, zippers that fail halfway through a trip. In Rotterdam, where we're based, we watched backpackers and daily commuters struggle with gear that wasn't built for real life.
That frustration became ghanaspy B.V. back in 2019. We didn't want to create another generic brand with mass-produced inventory. Instead, we focused on one thing: bags that actually work for how people move.
Our Amsterdam Canvas Backpack started as a sketch on a cafe napkin. It took eight months of testing — real people, real trips, real feedback — before we felt it was ready. That's still how we work. We've spent years refining our Weekender Travel Tote, our Compact Sling Pack, and everything else. Each bag solves specific problems we've experienced ourselves.
Travel shouldn't require compromise. Daily carry shouldn't feel like a chore. So we build bags that fit your life, not the other way around.
